New Internet Job Site for CPAs Expands
CPACareerNet, an online job site for accountants, has entered into agreements with three national and international accounting associations to assist their members in locating and hiring qualified personnel.
Agreements have been signed with the Association for Accounting Administration (AAA), National Associated CPA Firms (NACPAF), and IA International.
CPACareerNet was established to provide independent CPA firms and others with access to an extensive database of interns, college graduates, licensed CPAs, accounting executives and other accounting professionals looking for new employment opportunities.
The Association for Accounting Administration is a national group of more than 500 accounting administrators founded in 1984 to provide leadership and direction to the accounting profession.
National Associated CPA Firms includes nearly 50 CPA firms in the United States and is affiliated with Evancic Perrault Robertson, with 43 offices in Canada, and Morison International, with 66 firms worldwide.
IA International is an association of more than 135 independent accounting and consulting firms located throughout the world. In addition to providing member firms with access to worldwide professional resources, IA International provides an exchange of professional information through partner seminars, publications, and written manuals.
CPACareerNet was established in 2001 as a sister company to CPAmerica International, a network of more than 70 large independent CPA firms across the United States, and, through its affiliation with Horwath International, more than 300 offices in 85 countries around the world.
Firms gain national exposure through cooperation with other firms in a centralized recruiting environment. By creating this network of CPA firms across the country, CPACareerNet broadens applicants' opportunities. Often, these independent firms are a better fit to students' and CPAs' aspirations. CPACareerNet provides all accounting professionals a way to get connected.
The CPACareerNet Web site allows employers to post positions so that applicants can view and apply for positions via the Internet. When placing a position on the site, firms may include pre-qualifying questions that applicants must answer during the application process. Once an application is submitted, the entire package is e-mailed to the firm's designated contact.
Applicants are able to quickly search available positions using industry-specific criteria such as position or geographic location. If no suitable match is made, the default result displays all firms in that geographic area for future reference. Also available are numerous resources to assist applicants in conducting a job search, preparing their resume and cover letter, and interviewing for the job. The site is free to all interested applicants and is designed to provide a one-stop location for all their job-hunting needs.
